Carrot, Ginger & Turmeric Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

This smoothie is delicious, nourishing, easy to make and healthy. It is full of vitamins, minerals and incredible health benefits thanks to the ingredients that make it up. This is the ideal smoothie when you want to give a little boost to your immune system, while filling up with nutrients.

WHY AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY SMOOTHIE?
Inflammation is a natural defense mechanism of the body and is not harmful in itself. However, chronic inflammation of the body can be the source of many hormonal imbalances and health problems. It is therefore important to adopt a diet rich in anti-inflammatory foods thus promoting good overall health. That's why I included these two spices:

The turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory thanks to its active ingredient, curcumin longa, where it keeps its anti-inflammatory properties. It is effective in relieving chronic inflammation, muscle and joint pain, digestive disorders. It is also an excellent depurative agent of blood and liver, and protective of the body. In addition, turmeric is very rich in antioxidants, making it a favorite plant to prevent many cancers.

The ginger is an anti-inflammatory spice and effective anti-bacterial to fight infections, improve digestion, reduce intestinal pain, muscle and joint, and strengthen the immune system. When combined with turmeric, ginger would help prevent certain types of cancer. It is a stimulating and invigorating plant of the body that gives a real boost when you are tired.

But that's not all. This smoothie also contains other fruits and vegetables very good for health:

The banana is a good source of antioxidants, B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus calciumn. It is a particularly nourishing fruit that boosts energy, strengthens endurance, improves digestion, strengthens bones and muscles.

The carrot is rich in vitamin A, beta-carotene and vitamin E. It promotes good cardiovascular health and has a protective effect against certain cancers including lung cancer. It improves the appearance of the complexion and vision.

The pear is rich in vitamin C, B, E and potassium. It is a high source of fiber that helps improve intestinal transit, lower the level of bad cholesterol in the blood and prevent cardiovascular disease. It is also rich in antioxidants and helps strengthen the immune system.

The orange is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and dietary fiber. It boosts energy, relieves digestive disorders, stimulates the immune system and helps fight against fatigue. It is also beneficial for good bone health.

INGREDIENTS
Portions 2

2 ripe banana

Juice of 2 carrots

1 ripe pear (with skin)

1/2 c. ginger

1/2 c. coffee turmeric powder or a small piece of fresh turmeric

Juice half an orange

1/2 cup (125ml) of almond milk

METHOD:
Start by making your carrot juice. If you do not have a juicer, mix two carrots in a blender with a little filtered water until you get a smooth texture. Filter using a sieve or a thin cotton cloth and clean. Collect the juice and transfer to a glass.

Add all the ingredients in a blender, including the carrot juice. Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Add more almond milk as needed. Adjust the flavor of your smoothie if necessary. It should be naturally sweet thanks to bananas and ripe pears.

Serve in a glass and consume fresh.
